Overview:
After the many mixed reviews of 2009 for the original BlackBerry Storm (the first touchscreen BlackBerry device) the new BlackBerry Storm2 is launched. It is the same size as the original Storm but thankfully many of problems encountered with the original Storm have been addressed and BlackBerry are back with even more technology, generating a fuller, smoother device, with an enhanced touchscreen. The keys now feel more ‘real’ with a physical and audio clicking. The on-screen QWERTY keyboard also allows for instantaneous double-touching, and therefore faster typing. Predictably, the Storm2 now has Wi-Fi, which was a major oversight on the original Storm product. The internal memory has also been increased to 2GB and can also be extended with a microSD card. Several useful Google apps such as Gmail and Google Maps will work on the Storm2, which also boasts GPS. The Storm2’s 3.15 megapixel camera includes autofocus, image stabiliser, LED flash and geo-tagging. Those who use their phones for socialising will be pleased to know that both Twitter and Facebook apps are pre-installed and photos can easily be uploaded from the phone. Yet the Storm2 is also a useful business tool with push email, calendar and contacts, all compatible with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and Novell Group Wise. A great all-rounde
